Upcoming Changes to Event Tickets Plus
Most users of ourĀ Event Tickets PlusĀ sell tickets via our integration with either WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads, two of the WordPress world’s leading ecommerce engines.
Historically, Event Tickets Plus has also offered support for Shopp and WP E-Commerce. However, at this point only a very small number of our users continue to work these plugins. We have thus decided to discontinue support for Shopp and WPEC,Ā allowing us to develop Event Tickets Plus more efficiently and effectively.
We formally deprecated our integrations with Shopp and WPECĀ plugins as part of our Event Tickets Plus 4.4.8 releaseĀ (which shipped last month) and our next Event Tickets Plus release will complete the deprecation process by fully removing support forĀ these plugins.
If you are one of the few folks still using theseĀ plugins, you have threeĀ options:
- You can stay with your current version of Event Tickets Plus and avoid upgrading.
- You can switch to usingĀ WooCommerce or Easy Digital DownloadsĀ
- You can continueĀ using Shopp or WPEC with Event Tickets Plus 4.4.8 but plan to move to one of the supported plugins in the near future.
Again, no other users are impacted by this change – so if you sell tickets using WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads there’s no need for any further action. Of course, if anyone has any further questions aboutĀ this change please do feel free to reach out to us via the support forums.
